the greening of the bicycle

Last October our Rotary club sponsored the Homebrewers’ Fest. 46 beer home brewers participated and offered their kegs of beer for tasting. One of the participants came pulling his keg on wheels while riding his solar powered bicycle.

Ha! How cool is that!? I'd better not show hub or he'll be wanting one too.

I am amazed at how clever some people are! Talk about a souped up ride!

Fantastic! I've known people wit battery powered bikes, but didn't realise it could run on solar power.

A very ingenious way to power up your ride! We have a team at one of the state colleges who work with a solar-powered bicycle, but I'd never heard of an individual having one.

Here's my Snapshot

And I'd never heard of a solar-powered bike either. Does the energy store up and power the bike? Is that it?

That's real cool (hot, I mean)... We're getting overcast sky, rain and wind today, temp. right now is 11C (52 F). But, I'm happy there's no snow now. ;)

Now that's something you don't see every day! Of course one would need to live in a sunny area, else there would be a lot of pushing of the bike. :)
